Faith

You exist vaguely in memory as the quiet neighbor I have never seen for years
But my memory stirred as you approached,
And the recognition must have been mutual,
For a slight smile touched your lips.
We take turns to gaze at each other
The gaze demands to know more
But nothing is given, nothing revealed.
Our aborted conversation becomes
A vague memory to recollect when we next meet again.
